HELP NEEDED TO LOCATE THE FAMILY OF THIS LADY(URGENT)
THE search is still on for relatives of Jamaican Henrietta Vance who is critically ill and hospitalised at the University Hospital of Miami in Florida.
A day after the Hospital, through the Guardianship Program of Dade County, issued a call for relatives of the gravely ill woman to contact that facility there was no response.
The appeal was made through the Jamaican Consulate in Miami who then contacted the Kingston office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade which issued an appeal to media houses Monday afternoon.
The Guardianship Programme, up to yesterday was in search of Vance's sons, Wilton Chin of Manning Field District in Manchester and Glendford Chin of a 128 Bushy Park Garden in May Pen, Clarendon, and her sister Martha Reid of a Pratville Manchester address and Lov Duhaney of a 42 Olnee Road.
Yesterday, the Observer learnt that at least one of Vance's sons was in Canada.
The hospital, through the Guardianship Program, had turned its search for help to Jamaica after efforts to find anyone linked to Vance in the United States proved futile. The facility is seeking a 'do not resuscitate order' or 'DNR'. A DNR is a legal order written in respect of a patient's wish not to undergo CPR or advanced cardiac life support if their heart or breathing fails. The request is usually made by the patient or health care power of attorney.
Vance has been assigned to the Guardianship Programme temporarily by the courts, pending the location of her next-of-kin.

SIZZLA SERIOUS BUT STABLE
Up to late last night, popular reggae artiste Sizzla Kalonji was still listed in critical, but stable condition in a Kingston hospital following a motorcycle accident on Wednesday evening.
The artiste was airlifted to Kingston yesterday morning after the staff at the St Ann's Bay hospital stabilised him following the accident. According to publicist, Olimatta Taal, it was an emotional moment for Sizzla's family to see the artiste being airlifted from St Ann. She noted that some members of his immediate and extended family wept as the events unfolded.
The artiste, born Miguel Collins, is reported to have suffered broken arms and ribs and a fracture collar bone. The injuries also include a ruptured liver, which is said to have resulted in internal bleeding.
Sizzla was hit from his motorcycle by a bus which was overtaking him in St Ann's Bay on Wednesday evening. The driver of the bus did not stop after the accident.
According to reports from St Ann, the hospital was packed like a stage show as hundreds of concerned friends and fans converged on the facility as news spread regarding the accident.
The artiste's management notes that "as strong and resilient as his messages, we look forward to seeing him on a powerful journey towards healing. He is surrounded by lots of love from his family and friends. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. The family is pleased with the outpour of love that has been coming from all over the island and internationally."
The family of Miguel Collins and staff of Kalonji Muzik would like to thank everyone for praying for Sizzla Kalonji and sending him positive energy. They are asking for the fans of the artiste to give Sizzla a few days to recover, therefore the hospital where he is located will not be disclosed.

Asafa Powell pulls out of 100 metres
DAEGU, South Korea (AP) — Asafa Powell has been ruled out of the 100 metres at the athletics world championships because of a groin injury, eliminating defending champion Usain Bolt's biggest rival from the marquee event.
Powell's manager Paul Doyle told The Associated Press today that the injury sustained several weeks ago was still giving the fastest man of the season too much trouble. He added that Powell could be fit by the time of the 4x100 relay during the final weekend of the championships.
"The groin strain is still lingering," Doyle said. "He is not quite 100 per cent."
The 100-metre heats open on Saturday and the race is traditionally the highlight of the championships. It is also the opening race in Bolt's quest for three sprint gold medals.
American rival Tyson Gay was injured in June and two other top performers are not in Daegu because of doping scandals, leaving Bolt with few credible challengers.
Powell had been running fast all through the season until he pulled out of the Crystal Palace Diamond League meet as a precautionary measure to protect his groin.
Doyle said it would take up to four more days to have a full recovery and did not rule him out for the September 4 relay final. With Bolt, Jamaica is favored to win that race and defend their title.
Doyle said the succession of three races over the weekend would have been too much at this stage for Powell.
"The running of the rounds would be problematic," he said.
Doyle said the decision to pull out of the 100 was taken after extensive testing in Daegu.
"The next day, it is still very sore again," Doyle said.
